Shutter Time

 So? What can you do with old shutters? 

 Magazine Rack? Photo Holder? 

 Clean it, Re-glue a few slates,.

Close off the back and turn it upside down

I you have water/termite damage. cool! it adds character. recommend you treat a fit the hole with a glue so nobody reclaims it a a home. 

 This one I added Clothes Pins and a fee Hooks and now you can 

also slide photos in because the back is blocked off.

I left this the soft sea foam green they were and brass and white 

handle and hooks and TaDa.  If you choose not to close the back, 

look for a wider one you can use for a Magazine Rack.

Parts Tray Mirror

This old industrial parts tray I found at a horders house in Phoenix. 

As soon as I saw it I new what I wanted to do with it.

Usually I leave the rusty look, but this time I wire brushed it a bit to much

and it did not look is good. 

 So a metal primer and three coats of a great hammered

aluminum metallic spray paint.  I add a nice piece of mirror and...

Now, it a great accent mirror for any room. 

Boy Cool Chalkboard

Two coats of primer and then three coat of Double Glossy Red spray paint,

 I prefer the spray Chalk Board on primed smooth wood like this repurposed cabinet door.  Roll on in great fo texture wood.

The cars are Melisse & Doug Wooden Cars which came in variety pack of six for $25 a set.  Me GS for $2.  Painted in Black the wood dowels are attached to the cars and cabinet door with wood glue and two sided screws.

John Deere anyone?

 Garage Sale find of an older 

John Deere crate.

 The second piece of foam was foam for car seats with a thin plastic mesh so materials won't slip back and forth. I cut the second foam about and inch and 1/2 wider so when attaching the material the foam will cover the wood edge. 

 That way the material will not  rub and wear out when in use. 

 Love the hinges give a lot of play and is hidden inside the box.

John Deere, Do I need to say more?  I found the crate at a GS and of course had to span it up.  Right away I new it wound become a seat of some sort.  I had to stop by a fabric store for some funky print for other chairs and there it was John Deere fabric.  "Snap"  A little spray glue and cushioning foam and I was set. 

Chalk and Bulletin Boards

Repurposed Broyhill Entertainment Cabinet Door Chalk and Cork board $65 

size 43x21

Once a Broyhill Entertainment Console now disassembled and the doors made into a high quality wood bulletin board.  I removed the two panels turned the top  around after priming and painting with chalk board paint.  the bottum panel I inserted a 3/8 cork panel (G-sale find) 25, 2x4 sheet for $10. Sanded and used spray adhesive to secure it.  fit great and assembly was easy.  I have two of these for $65 dollars each.  Other project coming from the scrapes.

Just one of those G-Sale find that needed a cute face lift, Rust removed and Three Coats of Colorful Paint Once white with gold frame now a hot multi-color with chrome Treasure.  Super price at $35.00

Fun Colorful Shelve

I found these in an alley on 16th street cutting through to a G-sale.   No cabinet just the drawers.  well a little sanding, three colors of spray paint, switch the knobs and attached side screws to hold them all together.   I add picture hooks on the back for easy hanging.  Only $29 and it will look great.

Grandma's old Cosco stool

1947 Cosco model 4-D stepping stool/chair.    I sure remember Grandma having this tucked in the corner of the kitchen ready for her grandchildren to lend a helping hand.   

I snatched this up for $7 at G-Sale and could not wait to take it apart and give it a new life. (please remember when breaking things down you should have some idea on how it goes back together.) No not me.  So I had to add another 30 minutes figuring out that puzzle.  

Sanded lightly metal and chrome to remove any rust, Primed (2 coats) and then 3 coats of Rust-Oleum's Magnolia .  remember the drying times vary so follow the paint directions.  Lesson learned.  Dah!

"Purchased this "Venetian Red" vinyl on sale for $1 a yard (yahoo!) and batting from Michael's.  Removed the rubber step mats and painted those a semi-gloss black and then reattached with 3M 90 Spray adhesive. I found the two missing caster cups at hardware store and because they did not match I spray painted to a close match of the red.

Maybe not the baby blue color Grandma's had but, but a vibrent palet I must say.
"Go ASU Sun Devils".

Chrome aluminum painted wrought iron, 3 coats Liquid nail glue 1/4' thick for good coverage.

  

Attach records and added weight for good adhesion.
